Dr. Krainer Awarded $100,000 for DIPG Research

The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant  to Dr. Adrian Krainer of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York. The Musella Foundation surprised Dr. Krainer on behalf of the DIPG Collaborative on September 17, 2016. This $100,000 grant will fund Dr. Krainer's "Allele-specific antisense therapy for DIPG" study. Dr. Straathof Awarded $200,000 Grant for DIPG Reserach

The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant  to Dr. Karin Straathof of UCL Institute of Child Health in London. This $200,000 grant will fund Dr. Straathof's "Towards T-cell based immunotherapy for DIPG" study. To date, The Cure Starts Now Foundation has raised over $6.7 million in groundbreaking pediatric brain cancer research. The Cure Starts Now Foundation is focused on finding the homerun cure for all cancers.

Dr. Nazarian Awarded with $125,000 Grant

The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant  to Dr. Javad Nazarian of Children's National Medical Center in Washington DC. The Virginia Chapter of The Cure Starts Now surprised Dr. Nazarian with the grant at an event in Arlington, VA back in November. This $125,000 grant will fund Dr. Nazarian's "Comprehensive Molecular-Based Cross Species Comparison of DIPG Biology Scientific Merit" study. The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant  to Dr. Yang Shi of Boston Children's Hospital in Boston, MA. This $110,000 grant will fund Dr. Shi's "Enabling Epigenetic Profiling of Diffuse Invasive Pontine Glioma Cell In Vitro" study. Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Awarded $100,000 Grant

The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant right in their backyard to Dr. Mariko DeWire of Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. This $100,000 grant will fund her "Early Phase 2 study of LEE011, a CDK4/6 inhibitor" study.  The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant to Dr. Li of Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, TX. The North Texas and Southeast Texas chapters of The Cure Starts Now Foundation surprised Dr. Li with the grant for $200,000 for his "targeting DIPG's through Super-activation of Steroid Receptor Co-activators" study. The Cure Starts Now Foundation, along with the DIPG Collaborative, awarded another pediatric brain cancer research grant to Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA. The Massachusetts Chapter of The Cure Starts Now Foundation surprised Dr. Beroukhim with the grant for $100,000 for his "characterizing resistance mechanisms to radiation therapy in diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma" study. West Sixth Brewing and Stagnaro Distributing to make donation to cancer research

West Sixth Brewing and Stagnaro Distributing are set to make a donation of $3,392 to The Cure Starts Now Foundation on August 13 through the West Sixth “Pay It Forward” program.  By purchasing The Pay it Forward Cocoa Porter, West Sixth donates 50 cents for every 6-pack sold to a nominated charity of choice. The Cure Starts Now was the charity of choice during the second quarter of 2015 for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region, where 3,392 6-packs were sold equating in a donation of $1,696.  

Penny Wars Benefit The Cure Starts Now

During the end of the 2014 school year, students at Fred Becker Elementary School in Waterloo, IA wanted to do something to help kids with cancer. A group of third graders brainstormed a great way to get the rest of the school involved. After much discussion the "Penny War" began.The students challenged each hallway to come up with pennies to benefit The Cure Starts Now Foundation. Eat Chili and Help Cure Cancer

Cincinnati chili favorite, Gold Star Chili, has partnered with The Cure Starts Now Foundation through an innovative program called “Cans for the Cure”.
